Okay, it should probably have been my first clue that something was up when I realised my clothes were getting a little tight around the chest. Admittedly, I hadn't measured myself for nearly a year by then but having just come from a trip abroad, I figured, "Oh, it's travel fat."

Yesterday I posted items from my humble collection of cosmetics--and as I don't have an actual boudoir yet, it shall have to stay that way until we've made space for that somewhere in the house. ^_~

Anyway, my little make-up tool box (shown below, occupying a small corner of my bottom office shelf in front of my anti-stress DVDs)

was inspired by the organizational style of Marlena from Makeup Geek.com, who featured in several YouTube videos how she, as a professional make-up artist, stores and organizes her stash.

First Time Anti-Jitters

There have been warnings against doing too much Internet research from what I've heard about people finding their symptoms to mean worse illnesses than they actually have.

Personally, I find all this research reassuring and very helpful especially in a culture where logic can often be outweighed by kasabihan.

Blog Maintenance #6: Insta-revise

So apparently I misunderstood portions of "Fair Use" and attribution doesn't count.

Therefore my cute little LinkWithin will be missing photo thumbnails for a little while--imagine the horror now, of having to do this for two other blogs to which my Blogger cross-posts. To fellow blogger Tony Burgess on Tumblr, this is the only truly ridiculous thing of having three different platforms, hahaha!

I want to make this blog a permanent thing and I don't want there to be any issues arising from my use of various photos I find to be symbolic of the images and thoughts I have in my head. I'd rather not deal with the possibility of being sued for having been misled into thinking all the attributions and whatnot was enough.

*sigh*

So if there are others out there who, like me, thought attributions and links back covers the non-profit use of any image, read this blogger's experience. And be even more mindful of your photo usage. I've been saying I'm a wannabe photographer, well, this wannabe will take that a little more seriously now and take more photos to replace the ones I'm about to take down!

Now really...what in the world to do with the other million and one Tumblr and Pinterest shares?

Positive Thinking

I am hardly the best advocate for this because I tend to straddle the line between pragmatism and pessimism. I find, however, that I have suddenly been thrust in the role of doing my best to be the beacon of positivity in the family.

Oh the irony. And the music.

Call for donations

The shelter animals at the Philippine Animal Welfare Society are in great need of old newspapers and old towels. Both are used as cage liners to help keep rescued cats dry, warm, and clean.

Some clouds have a pink lining

I've been having a generally bad week. Naturally, this has done absolutely nothing for my mood regardless of hormonal levels.

Oh but this, this made my day, along with some news I received earlier in the morning that we are fervently praying for.

Sometimes the dark clouds are lined with pink rubber and a candy-sprinkled cupcake.

A quick view of my new make-up box and its contents.

This Lock & Lock box is actually intended to be a first aid kit but when I saw it I immediately thought "Make-up kit!"

First of all, I love that the lid is securely fastened by locks going all the way around ; typical of the structure of any Lock & Lock container.

The first aid kit has a total of seven compartments. 2/3 of the box is occupied by stacking compartments. The top bit is divided in quarters while the bottom bit is divided in half by a removable divider. The remaining 1/3 is just a tall compartment probably meant for alcohol, etc.

I'd honestly personally assumed that "couture" was simply a fancier way of referring to fashion in its entirety (attire, styling, accessories, etc.) but apparently it's way more than that. And there are guidelines for it too.
