Now reading...

I started reading this today, just really wanted to share. It's one of my favourite treasures from Ireland and I was so excited to see it on the shelf, especially since Alison Weir is one of my favourite writers.

It's a little bit of a detour from my Tudor readings but right now I'm also working on The Lady in the Tower which is about Anne Boleyn.

Book happiness!

The kind of parent I want to be #2: Books

My husband and I are both readers. You cannot be an effective writer without being a reader and while writing does not rely solely on learning from reading, reading is important for a number of other reasons.

The most important, to me anyway, is information. You can never go wrong with learning, whatever it might be that you're trying to learn. In fact, no one should ever stop learning and reading books is a good way to do so. More often than not, you don't even realise you're learning something which makes it even more fun and easier to retain the information.

This may be my last entry for the next three weeks

My husband and I will be flying to Ireland soon. This isn't just for our honeymoon. Actually--shh...don't tell him I said this--the more pressing matter at hand is that we're flying to Ireland for my best friend's wedding! Any other touristy thing achieved during the trip is purely collateral. ^_~

It's been a very stressful past month and at the risk of sharing too much information, my primary proof of the stresses of the past week is the fact that this month's cycle took nearly 40 days to complete. I didn't even realise it had been that long until I started counting.

Safe and Sound from "The Hunger Games" movie

There are very few books I read that my husband enjoys and very few that he reads that I enjoy. The Harry Potter series was one of them and perhaps a little bit of The Lord of the Rings.

The truth is that the only reading material we can bond over are my women's magazines--I usually end up asking him things stated in articles written for women about men and how true or not they are for him.

That was until we finally gave in, jumped on yet another bandwagon, and bought The Hunger Games.
